Since Henry is going to be in preschool this year I’m already thinking of our Fall wardrobes. It’s much earlier than the last couple of years which is usually in October, and then I’m usually scrambling a little bit. This is much nicer, but it is a little hard because I’m planning a transitional wardrobe. I have to plan a wardrobe for the end of summer (it’ll still be hot for a month or two) and the beginning of Fall. I think the planning, picking fabrics, and coordinating outfits is my very favorite part of sewing.
This time I used the free Fall wardrobe planning printable. Becca from Free Notion has some great posts about planning, picking fabrics, and she is also planning some Fall wardrobes. This is a sudoku planning tool, and it’s super cool. I didn’t coordinate it when I first started drawing and coloring because I was focused on planning.
I’m planning on cutting up all the squares and coordinating the outfits in square pieces. I am excited to play around with outfits. Claire hardly needs anything. She’ll need a lot of warm things, but I’m not going to work on those yet. Henry has lots of shorts and tees from the summer. He just needs some jackets, and some nicer transitional button-up shirts.
This is my plan. The majority of these were finished this summer. I need mostly jackets to help me transition into colder days. I’ll share the outfits once I’m all finished. I need to cut these out and play with them too.
Here is a small part of the fabrics I’m using. Some have been chopped up, and some projects have already been finished. I can’t wait to plan some outfit pictures with all these cute new clothes.
