Just For You Sewlebrity Sewalong and Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago I fell in love with a beautiful chiffon fabric from Joann's. The colors were all my favorites, and I really love light, airy fabrics. Well, it just turned into a big mess. I still loved the fabric, but didn't know what to do with it. Luckily, I was asked to join the Sewlebrity Sewalong over at Sew Can She where I was able to rescue my fabric using the book Just for You: Selfish Sewing Projects from Your Favorite Sew Can She Bloggers: 24 Simply Stylish Projects*. Go over to see what I made!
Just For You Sewlebrity Sewalong and Giveaway
The book is fabulous and has 24 fun and easy sewing projects for you! It also has a facebook group for sharing what you've made and asking any questions. I love fun sewing and chatting communities! You can also look up the hashtag #justforyoubook to see other creations from the book.
And I'm giving away one book today! This giveaway is open to everyone. If you live in the United States you will receive a hard copy of the book. International winners will receive an ebook copy. All you need to do is comment with your favorite quick sewing project!

  1. My favorite quick project is a simple A line skirt, but I need to think about scarves too!

  2. I was so excited to see your marigold, so sad that it just didn't turn out how you wanted. But the scarf is a pretty completer piece, you will wear it often!
I think my favorite sewing project lately has been the easy tee from its always autumn. It is a quick sew because I have made so many. And the skipper top for my girls. My two go to patterns.
Would that Marigold work well in chambray? I like the style of the shirt and am trying to figure out which shirt pattern to use with the chambray you gave me.

  3. I love how you rescued the rest of the fabric and i love the lace with the chiffon. My favorite quick sewing project is a dolman top. So easy. Don't have to deal with cutting and sewing up sleeves. And I usually just trace a dolman top that flatters me at the time.

  5. I'm obsessed with making variations on plain t-shirts. My original pattern is from It's Always Autumn (http://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/2013/07/26/the-easy-tee-simplest-womens-t-shirt-ever.html), but I alter it a bit each time.

  6. I am going to try you VC panties one of these days. In the meantime, a quick project is Fabric Gift Pouches. They are easy to sew and useful.. Even if you don't use them for gifts, they can be used for a little girl's purse, etc. http://aspoonfulofsugardesigns.com/2014/10/fabric-gift-pouch-2/

  7. Skirts have got to be the easiest. Love making a new skirt. I love making bags, but they are not quite as fast.

  13. Favorite, easy project is burp cloths for babies!! So loved by the Mommies -- I usually make wash cloths, changing pads, burps, and other things to match. But if I need to get something accomplished -- burp cloths -- can make 12 in a little over an hour and it starts the juices flowing!!
