I decided to jump in on KCW this time to just make clothes for my kids that I am inspired by and that I love. I decided to do a bunch of tees for the kids first. I did two Valentine’s Day shirts and two other fun tees. It was my first time trying freezer paper stencils, and it was awesome. A lot of work to cut out each picture because I don’t have any sort of cutting machine, but they turned out so great. I really love them. Every shirt was refashioned from an adult shirt which made sewing them up super fast since I didn’t have to sew any hems. Those slow me down the most.

KCW Day 1: Graphic Tees

The moon shirt I let Henry paint. It was hard to let him take the reins ¬†while worrying about staining paint that could get everywhere. H liked it except that it’s hard to paint on fabric. Then I made him the arrow heart shirt for Valentine’s. I LOVE it. I think it’s my favorite of all of them. I freezer painted the black part and stamped the hearts. Henry was disgruntled that one heart was “cracked.”
For Claire I made a “messy hair, don’t care” shirt because her hair is long and always a mess. I’ve wanted to make her a shirt like this since she was born because of her awesome hair. The last shirt is for Valentine’s, and it’s the ABC’s with “I {heart} U” in red.

Tomorrow I’ll take pictures of the kid’s wearing the shirts so I can post those! Is anyone else participating in KCW?
