I think it was a pillowcase dress...I broke my friends moms sewing machine as a teenage but I can't remember what I was making. So the first thing I made after school was a pillowcase dress, probably. Lol!

I sewed a wallet. It accidentally turned out perfect (pattern matching and zipper on the first try), so I got overconfident after that. ;) I was quickly humbled afterward. lol

Geez! I began sewing with my grandma when I was four years old - how am I supposed to remember? I do remember that she would hand me her scraps and I would make my doll a "dress". At least that's what my four year old self thought it was. ;)

In elementary school I helped my grandmother sew a quilt. Later on my own I made a baby quilt for a friend.
The first thing I ever sewed? I don't know. But the first time I really got into sewing was in High School. My theatre teacher assumed that because of my religion I knew how to sew so when I got kicked out of the show for failing classes, she put me on the costume crew. I was the only one on it! I made the stuff work (taught myself pretty quick) and she loved me for it, but admitted she never would have put me there with such expensive fabrics had she known.
The first thing I ever sewed was a quilt when I was 11 years old. It was made of denim and flannel. I still have it too. Then later on in my teenage years I got into sewing my own clothes.

i know my sister and i sewed outfits for Barbie, but i best remember my first quilt at age 16. i still have it!
