Feathers Flights // Sewing Blog: Toile Baby Girl Overalls

Toile Baby Girl Overalls

The other day when I was scrolling through Pinterest I saw toile baby bloomers with straps. I can't find the pin now, but I was instantly inspired. I remembered I had a toile-like fabric that I've had in my stash for years. Since I've pulled back from doing tutorials, I now have time to sew when I have a sudden spark of inspiration. These overalls have a crossover front with straps that cross in the back.
They are so cute and so fun for summer. I love the gathered legs around her chubby leg rolls. She is already trying to bring her legs up under her tummy!
Pattern: I used a pattern from the book Kwik Sew Sewing for Baby. (This is my very favorite sewing book.)
Fabric: I have had this toile fabric since I first got married. I can't remember which store I got it at.
Time: 2 hours
Cost: Fabric was originally $2 a yard and I used about 1/3. With thread and snaps it's about $1.50.

It looks so great with a cute, striped cardigan too!

  1. I am expecting our fourth child and second baby girl in August and have the perfect toile in mind. Thanks for the inspiration.
And your daughter always has the cutest expressions and hair.

  2. Oh I adore toile and I adore Claire in this outfit. She is such a doll!

  3. Heather, these are adorable! I love her little facial expressions!

  4. OMG so beautiful! And I love that last photo with the cardigan. =D
