Boy's Fall/Winter Collection: Sweater Cardigan and Wool Pants

I'm slowly getting pictures of Henry in his collection clothes. He's not very patient with changing clothes so I only do an outfit a day. In these pictures he's wearing his cardigan I made from a man's sweater embellished with faux leather and pants cut from vintage herringbone wool pants using MADE kid pants pattern.
I drafted the cardigan myself and upcycling a man's sweater. I reused the neckline, sleeve cuffs, and waistband. I used twill tape to finish the center front edges and then added snaps. He actually likes wearing this cardigan and chooses it a lot. He also likes putting cars in the pockets.
I know skinny jeans are in for boys right now and I love them on Henry, but I love the fit of these bootcut pants! There's just something classic and masculine about them. They are quite long on him, so they'll be perfect for growing into this winter.
He looks so dapper in this outfit! Even with his sippy cup.

  2. The leather accents on the sweater are awesome! and that blue is perfect for making his eye color pop. He looks absolutely adorable -- very dapper indeed! Would he let you add a bowtie to it? that would take to a whole other level of cuteness!

  5. Wow Heather, I'm really lovin' this outfit! I'm still trying to get the hang of the "boy" sewing, but the snaps, leather, and different textures you used are great inspiration. Henry looks adorable!

  7. Very cute! Henry has such a big smile. I love the details you've used - I'm trying my hand at boy sewing after many years of sewing bows, frills and ric rac on everything
