I love going swimming in the summer, but for some reason I want to wear a sweatshirt and sweatpants afterwards. And it’s too hot for that! To remedy this I made a summer sweatshirt to wear after swimming or anytime I want to be extra comfortable. It’s a color-blocked dolman sleeve sweatshirt with cuffs on the sleeves and the bottom hem.

I only had a tiny peach remnant piece from a project in my women’s church group. I eked out the top of this and had only tiny scraps left. I found the teal fabric in the remnant bin months and months ago. I also had only tiny scraps left of the teal. The color choices for the neckline and cuffs were made based on how much fabric I had, and they actually turned out great.

When I first finished this sweatshirt, I freaked out because everything about it just screamed 80’s to me. I was worried I would hate it and never wear it. The first second I put it on though I loved it and didn’t care if it looked 80’s. Does it look 80’s to you or maybe inspired by something else?

For those of you that are interested, here’s my 17 week baby bump. The sweatshirt hides it pretty well, and it’ll grow really well with me.
