I decided to make a soft, flowy maxi dress that will take me through my pregnancy and that I can wear to Sewing Summit this weekend. (Yes, I am going, and I'm excited/nervous!) I used my perfect tee pattern and added flare just like my chevron flyaway tee. It was really quick to sew two since it's so simple. I love the simplicity, the color, the comfort, and the fit.
When I first put it on before I put on the belt, my husband was not a fan. It does kind of look like a potato sack. Luckily, he likes it with a belt and that was how I intended to wear it.
Since the neckline kind of stretches out because of the grainline, I added a sequin band across the back for a glamorous detail. I used leftover sequin fabric from my sequin top. (Man, I have used every bit of those scraps for tons of glamorous touches!) I love the little glam it gives.
There's lots of room for the baby to grow, but I love this dress so much I'll definitely be wearing it after this baby comes!
