Me Made: Tee Dress With Sequin Detail

I decided to make a soft, flowy maxi dress that will take me through my pregnancy and that I can wear to Sewing Summit this weekend. (Yes, I am going, and I'm excited/nervous!) I used my perfect tee pattern and added flare just like my chevron flyaway tee. It was really quick to sew two since it's so simple. I love the simplicity, the color, the comfort, and the fit.
When I first put it on before I put on the belt, my husband was not a fan. It does kind of look like a potato sack. Luckily, he likes it with a belt and that was how I intended to wear it.
Since the neckline kind of stretches out because of the grainline, I added a sequin band across the back for a glamorous detail. I used leftover sequin fabric from my sequin top. (Man, I have used every bit of those scraps for tons of glamorous touches!) I love the little glam it gives.
There's lots of room for the baby to grow, but I love this dress so much I'll definitely be wearing it after this baby comes!

  1. Oh, it looks so comfy! And it's only gonna get cuter as your belly grows with the belt just above to accentuate it. What a perfect new wardrobe staple!

  2. Love it with the belt. And I missed your announcement- Congratulations!! Have fun at the Sewing summit also :)

  3. Heather...you look so beautiful! I love this dress and have fun this weekend :)

  4. What a beautiful dress:) It looks so comfy too. Have fun at the Sewing Summit:)

  5. It looks lovely with the belt and comy too!

  6. You look great with maxi dresses. And just like Carissa said, it will even look cuter with a baby bump =)
