Feathers Flights // Sewing Blog: Wedding Dress Alteration

Wedding Dress Alteration

A few months ago right about the time I was saving another wedding dress, I was working on my friend's fiancee's dress. She got the dress at David's Bridal (you can find it here) and needed something alterations. The dress on the top left is what we started with. She needed the lace top lined, built up in the front, sleeves added, besides the regular alterations like sloping shoulder, sides in, and hem up. The professional photography was done by Etre Photography who is another friend of mine and does amazing work!
She was wonderful to work with, and I loved working with such a beautiful dress. It was a lot of work to move all the lace and redo the beading, but it turned out so pretty! She loved it and had a wonderful wedding day!

  1. I love seeing your wedding dress alterations! They always look so amazing! This one is no exception. WOW!!! What a gorgeous bride and perfect dress. I'm so into lace these days. Probably cuz of Kate Middleton. ;)

  2. Heather, I love it too! I wish I could do beadwork, but I've always been too scared to try. I love her dress, you did a great job fitting it for her!

  3. wow!! That's a lot of work!! It turned out fantastic!

  4. Great job! I've done a lot of wedding dress's
to get them Temple ready... always a challenge
to make them look the way the bride has in
mind. She looks lovely... the couple are
really cute. Just wait though, people will
    be calling. ;)
