Me Made: Metallic Gold Dot Dress

On a whim I decided to make a dress. I sewed it together quite quickly, so I decided that it would be my Easter dress. I love it! It's an easy-to-wear dress, but the metallic gold makes it look fancy. I used my favorite tee for the bodice, and then cut a half circle skirt for the skirt.
Isn't the fabric gorgeous? I got it from Girl Charlee. I don't look good in tan, so I decided to add black ribbing to the neckline so black is against my face. Then I added it to the waist to suck it in and to give it a finishing touch.
Henry wanted to jump in on the picture (or I was distracting him from not getting into the neighbor's BBQ).
I accidentally captured this "just woke up" hero shot of Henry when I was testing my camera. He always gets that nest in the back of his hair.

  1. Wow...I have sewn for the kids for a little while now, but this really makes me want to sew for myself! The black neckline is perfect...! And I have a little girl about that age who wakes up with that same hair, although sometimes it's on the side of her head. :)

  3. Love the dress. So simple and perfect by itself, but there are so many ways to dress it up.
Wish stuff like that looked good on me. But I have about 30 lbs left to loose!

  5. Very nice! The black contrast bands were a good idea. Comfy and cute...doesn't get any better than that.
