Film Inspired Thanksgiving Outfit

I love the Film Petit series that jessica from a little gray and Kristen from skirt as top do. Film Petit is about kid's outfits inspired by movies you love instead of what your kids love. I didn't choose a movie I love; instead I chose a Thanksgiving movie. Well, sort of. The only one I could find that I'd actually seen was Pocohantas. While looking through pictures I was inspired by Meeko the raccoon.
I was inspired to do red pants from the picture of Meeko acting as a chief with red paw prints on his chest. I've wanted to make red skinny pants for Henry for most of his life. I wanted to get red stretch twill, but went with a red orange because it was cheaper.
I happened to have the perfect black and gray striped sweater that matched Meeko's tail. I was thinking about being pretty literal, but decided not to so Henry could wear it more often. I really wanted a shawl collar because I thought it copied the raccoon's neck. I used the Varsity Cowl Neck Pullover Pattern for the sweater. I liked the pattern but found the sizing to be a little off. I will be more careful the next time I use it.
I'm glad I did separates so now each piece can be used in another outfit. It was lots of fun to make an outfit inspired by a movie. I'm definitely doing this again!
