I finally made something from a sewing pattern for myself from start to finish. I haven't used an actual sewing pattern for myself since I was in college or a couple of years. My sister-in-law kindly sent me some patterns which gave me the motivation to make something for myself. I used McCall's M6512 pattern.
The pattern calls for a little lighter weight fabric, but I decided on using chambray because I hate wearing multiple shirts in the summer. I didn't want to make a shirt that was sheer.
I love that it can be dressy or casual. I also love that it isn't form-fitting.
I skipped out on a putting buttonholes on the sleeve tabs and pocket tabs because I just wanted to get done. I'm hoping nobody looks that closely at it.

Just stumbled across your blog and I love it! This shirt looks great. :) I think I will have to go out and buy this pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so good! Patterns scare me haha.
ReplyDeleteI really love how it turned out, I think I'm going to have to get that pattern. I'm the same though, it's been a while since I've used a pattern for myself
ReplyDeleteAwesome, looks very casual with the pants, love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable. I love the idea of not a skin tight shirt, and not having to wear a bunch of layers. But this winter you could totally throw a long sleeve shirt under it. What a great shirt! Well done!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute shirt. Love it with the belt and the skirt. Love your blog too.
