Christine made a skirt for herself, and I made one for my sister who is serving a mission. I found this gorgeous fabric for my sister; it spoke to me at the fabric store. It's hard to see the actual colors in the picture, but it's a really pale lavender and a dark gray.
Christine made one that was yellow and gray striped. Here she is sewing the elastic onto her skirt.
Didn't it turn out beautiful?
We had a lot of fun hanging out together. Henry loved the extra attention and playing with the fabric scraps. He looks like a baby Rambo.

I love that print! Both of the skirts turned out beautifully. Are they knit?
ReplyDeleteYes, and the floral one is actually swimsuit fabric, so I hope it'll work!
DeleteThey look soooo comfortable. I'm pretty much living in stretchy skirts right now because it's so hot and my belly is so big.
ReplyDeleteOh that's what I did all last summer! It's the only way to get through being pregnant in a hot summer!
DeleteCould you please give info on how you made the waste band? Link has exposed elastic, just not a fan of that aspect of the skirt. I like yours.
ReplyDeleteIt's knit fabric so I took a rectangle of fabric that fit snugly around my waist. I sewed the shorts ends together forming a tube. Then I folded it with right sides out, and sewed the ends to the skirt stretching the skirt as I sewed with a zigzag.
