Feathers Flights // Sewing Blog: Blue Rose Closet Door

Blue Rose Closet Door

I added a big flower design to my front closet door. It's right in the entryway so it's really eye-catching. I didn't really look at a picture of a flower when I made this, so it's kind of a made up flower.
I used blue contact paper that I found at a thrift store for $3. Truly one of the best finds ever. I just started cutting out petals and placing them on. It did take me awhile, but I didn't mind it. I know I could've done this with a silhouette, but I don't have one and don't think I would really use it very often.
I cut the middle petals in two so that the door can still open. It gives it a nice effect even when the closet door is open.
It matches the chevron bookshelf backing surprisingly well.

  1. Really cute. I need to go to the same thrift store as you!

  2. Love this!!! Deserves to be in a magazine!
