Feathers Flights // Sewing Blog: Rose Nursing Cover

Rose Nursing Cover

Guess what? I will have the diaper bag tutorial up tomorrow! It's almost finished. It's been some work getting it together, so I hope y'all use it!
I've also finished a nursing cover and nursing pads. I'll spare you that lovely picture, but I will show you the nursing cover. I am having a boy, but I wanted something girly for me. I'm the one "wearing" it right?
So I went with a pretty flower print I had leftover from this apron. I did have to piece it together to make it big enough, but no one can really tell. I don't care that much anyway.
I cheated a little and used horsehair instead of boning at the top because that is what I had. It works just the same though.
Here are two nursing cover tutorials I kind of looked at to make this one:
Little Birdie Secrets Nursing Cover
Sew Much Ado Nursing Cover
And this is the nursing pad tutorial:

I don't feel comfortable making up a tutorial for something I don't know about, so sorry about no tutorials for the baby/nursing stuff. I hope I can learn quickly to be able to make some tutorials for you after this little guy comes.

  1. Oh, I am so excited for the diaper bag tutorial. I have my fabric picked out, going to try laminating my outside fabric so it won't get too dirty and be easy to clean. Just need to buy zippers. Did you use separating zippers? Suggestions?
    I can't wait!

  2. I much prefer this nursing pad pattern. The contour part makes it more comfortable and usable in my opinion. http://www.pamperedcheeks.com/nursing_pads_pattern.php
