Summer Wedding Dress: The Reveal

I finished the wedding dress I've been working on this summer, and it turned out beautifully. I'm really happy with how it turned out. After looking at time and cost, my friend bought this dress and I altered it to be what she wanted.
I hemmed the bottom to just below her knee, and used the fabric for the other alterations.
I took off the fabric loops right under the bust. I built up the v-neck so it wasn't as low cut, and I added flutter sleeves.
I also built up the back. The original dress just had straps in the back.

Doesn't it look so good on her? It fit her well, and she was getting compliments all day long. It was such a fun dress to work on, and the fabric was a dream to work with. I'm so proud of how it came out and loved seeing it being worn all day long.

It was also a really fun wedding! We are lucky we got to go and send congrats to the couple! Did you all have a good weekend?

  1. Congrats! It looks great and she looks comfortable in it - that's a big bonus! :)

  2. Nice work! It looks great!

  3. What a great transformation! I love how it turned out, it looks like a totally different dress, but with the same attitude. Great job!
