Feathers Flights // Sewing Blog: Bluebirds

What do you do when you fall in love with fabric? Because I work at a dry cleaners, I go to the fabric store a couple times a week. A couple weeks ago while I was there I saw this fabric.
Gorgeous, right? Luckily, I fell out of love with it because I don't decorate with red.
Then I saw this version.
I also fell out of love with the purple version because I don't decorate with purple either. Suddenly there was this version
And I decorate with tan, brown and blue. The blue is a little bit different but I have a billion different blues in my front room. But it was $34.99 a yard. Really? That's outrageous. But I was in love, it was too perfect. I watched out for it everytime I went to the store and waited for a coupon. When a 50% off coupon appeared, I got 7/8 of a yard. Perfect! It's still more than I ever, ever pay for fabric but I'm completely happy with it. I don't regret it at all.
I love how big the birds are! Now I just need to find a bench or something to make with it. At least I have it though for whenever the "perfect" bench appears.
What do you do when you find something perfect you can't live without?
