Baby Shoes on the Bias
I made some plaid baby shoes this weekend and decided to cut the fabric on the bias (meaning I turn the grain line on the pattern at 45 degree angle to the grain line on the fabric). I love how they turned out! The pattern I use is the soft baby shoes pattern and tutorial. Anyway, here's some eye candy for baby shoe lovers!
I also sewed a small button on the side as a detail. Do you like it? I hope it doesn't make it look too girly.
When I was about to go to the baby shower, I realized I didn't have anything to wrap the shoes in! Luckily I had seen this post last week on I am Momma Hear Me Roar and decided to make a card with my scraps of fabric. I think it turned out pretty cute! Yes Heather, yes I would. But don't worry, our baby girl's due in January so you no rush. :)
ReplyDeleteI just love these baby shoes! I have to learn how to make these someday. I'm doing well, just really busy getting into the swing of things with the new job and taking a small course through the school district. Sewing is put on hold for now, but I hope to have time to do some projects on the weekends. Til then, I'm having fun checking out what you are up to!
