Me Made: Maroon Jersey Dress

This is the dress that I created the pattern and sewed it all by myself. I've had this idea for a dress for about a year but just haven't gotten around to it. I had some beautiful, deep red knit fabric to use. I made it for my first anniversary when my husband and I went to The Lion King Broadway.
It's hard to see in these pictures, but it's an empire line in the front that curves at the side around my bust to a higher empire line in the back. It has a round neckline that was open enough without being too revealing. It has fun gathered sleeves that fit perfect without being too tight. (Tight sleeves really bother me!) There are some gathers on the skirt under curves on the empire line and in the center back.

  1. It's so pretty! I just love the color and the neckline is really flattering. I've been thinking about sleeves on my next dress, but I haven't done any yet...tips? I'd like to do flutter sleeves.

  2. how fun to have a night out on the town with kev!
